MAR Platform

Most autoimmune research is built on cohorts that are too small.

Too small, too geographically narrow, too clinically homogeneous to detect the patterns that actually move treatment forward. Cross-disease patterns, longitudinal treatment-response signatures, comorbidity dynamics, molecular mimicry mechanisms — these need infrastructure that does not yet exist at scale in Europe. MAR is the answer to that, and to the regulatory environment Europe is heading toward.

Protocol templates for clinical, observational and real-world evidence studies in autoimmune disease. Methodology validated with European researchers.

Participant access

Connection to a consented participant base from across the Maia ecosystem. Recruitment that respects patient autonomy, with explicit opt-in for each study.

Data infrastructure

OMOP and FHIR-aligned data structures. Cross-disease cohort assembly. Longitudinal follow-up native to the platform.

Molecular mimicry repository

Europe's largest repository of documented pathogen-autoantigen sequence similarities — queryable by condition, pathogen and specialty. The foundation for studying autoimmune triggering mechanisms at scale.

PROMs at scale

Patient-reported outcome measures collected through Maia integrate natively into MAR — the patient voice as a first-class data source, not an afterthought.

Cross-border collaboration

Built for multi-centre, multi-country European studies. Designed to make GDPR and EHDS compliance the default, not a separate workstream.

The European Health Data Space comes into force in 2029. It will reshape how secondary use of clinical data works across Europe — and what kind of research is viable. MAR is built from the start to fit that framework, not to be retrofitted into it.
